The Ottawa Little Theatre is proud to host the 2010 Eastern Ontario Drama League (EODL) One-Act Play Festival. The Festival offers nine plays performed by community theatres from Almonte, Kemptville, Manotick, Peterborough, Perth, Trenton and Ottawa over the course of three sessions of three plays each on Friday, November 12 at 7:30 PM, and Saturday, November 13 at 2 PM and 7:30 PM. Each session is followed by a short public adjudication given by Laurel Smith in the auditorium. The evening sessions conclude with a reception in the Ottawa Little Theatre foyer.

On Sunday, November 14 at 11 AM, multiple awards will be presented at an Awards Brunch to be held at Mother McGuinty’s in the Byward Market. A total of 13 trophies are to be given out including awards for acting, design and direction, as well as the Award for Best Production, and the People’s Choice Award voted on by audience members who attend all three play sessions.

The plays to be performed range from The Perth Players production of an engaging Norm Foster romantic comedy, to the Ottawa Little Theatre’s runner up in last season’s One-Act Playwriting Competition, a hard-hitting, witty drama that pits an old man against two police interrogators.

Tickets are $18 for each three-play session, or $45 for all nine plays at the Ottawa Little Theatre, 400 King Edward Ave. Admission to the Awards Brunch is $30 at Mother McGuinty’s located at Clarence and Parent Streets.
