What You Should Know
1) What's Happening at Arts Court this Month?
A bi-monthly calendar of events is available for pickup at the
reception, call the box office at 564-7240 for information or
become an Arts Court Foundation Member and have them mailed directly
to your home or office (613) 569-4822.
2) How do I get Tickets?
Tickets are available at the Arts Court Box Office from 9 a.m.
-10 p.m., 7 days a week. Tickets can be reserved and purchased
with a VISA, Mastercard or American Express Card @ (613) 564-7240.
3) Where is Arts Court located?
Arts court is located in the heart of downtown Ottawa. We are
easily accessible by car or bus. All buses stopping at the Rideau
Centre drop riders off within a 3 minute walk of our front door.
Arts Court is accessible off the Queensway (Highway 417) by taking
the Nicholas Street exit.
4) Where can I park?
Parking is available on the street (metered parking) or at one
of the adjacent paid lots (Rideau Centre and Novotel) Sorry there
is no public parking on site, but there are over 12,000 parking
spots within a 1 km radius of Arts Court.
5) Does Arts Court offer wheelchair access?
Yes. Arts Court is wheelchair accessible. Please call us @ (613)
564-7240 to make arrangements.
6) When are the Galleries open?
Is there an admission fee? The Ottawa Art Gallery & Firestone
Gallery Hours: Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Thursday 10
a.m. 8 p.m., Saturday & Sunday noon- 5 p.m. SAW Gallery Hours:
Tuesday-Saturday 11 a.m.-5 p.m. terminal.gallery: Go to www.artengine.ca/terminal
for hours and more information. Entrance is free .... but donations
are always welcome!
7) What rental spaces are available at Arts Court?
The Arts Court Theatre is a well-equipped , 147 seat black - box
space with foyer, box office and reception area. Theatre services
include professional box office and technical support. The Theatre,
Studio, Rehearsal and Meeting Rooms are available at affordable
rates to professional and community arts groups as well as to
the general public. To discuss your production or event requirements
and for rental rate information, contact the Theatre Manager @
(613) 569-4822. SAW Gallery (613) 236-6181, Le Groupe Dance Lab
(613) 235-1492, and the Council for the Arts in Ottawa (613) 569-1387
also offer alternative spaces for a variety of events.
8) How can I volunteer in the arts?
Arts Court hosts many special events and is often seeking volunteers
to participate. Why not call the arts organization in the discipline
that interests you to find out how you can help and enhance your
skills at the same time. For guidance on who to call, begin at
our information desk @ (613) 564-7240
9) Are Courses and Workshops given at Arts Court?
Arts Court tends to be the administrative offices for Arts Organizations
...however the Independent Film Makers Cooperative (613) 569-1789,
Saw Gallery (613) 236-6181 and Compagnie Vox ThÈýtre
have been known to run workshops. Information about these types
of events would be available at reception (613) 564-7240 or by
calling individual groups. Other organizations such as the Ottawa
School of Art, School of Dance, and School of Speech and Drama
offer a variety of classes.
10) Is there Artists Studio Space for Rent at Arts Court?
No- unfortunately there is not. Arts Court rents office space
to Arts Organizations, Please contact the General Manager @ 564-3093
for more details. Enriched Bread Artists on Gladstone offers studio
space for artists and other studio space is available in the area
