A Landmark in Ottawa's Rich History
You will be intrigued by the story of the Billings Family in Ottawa. It is a story spanning two centuries and five generations - a story highlighting the changing lives of the family and reflecting the growth of a backwoods settlement into a modern urban centre.
Intimate exhibits of family heirlooms, personal belongings and other possessions such as furniture, tools, paintings, documents and photographs illustrate the intertwined stories of family and community. Feel free to browse on your own or to take a tour with one of our friendly, knowledgeable guides. Or, as scheduled, take part in hands-on activities, lively special events, presentations, tours and educational lectures and workshops. Call us for a calendar of activities.
The spacious grounds feature lush lawns, colourful and fragrant flower beds, heritage trees and shrubs, wooded slopes, centuries-old pathways and a shady picnic area.
