Canada Day


  • On July 1st, 2014, Canada celebrates its 147th birthday.
  • The NCC has been organizing Canada Day in Canada’s Capital Region, in collaboration with Canadian Heritage, since 1984.
  • Each year, more than 500 volunteers lend a hand to the NCC on Canada Day. For the second year, the NCC’s Canada Day Volunteer Program is proudly supported by Manulife Financial.
  • According to a 2011 survey, more than 510,000 participants took part in the festivities organized at the official sites in the Capital Region. The survey also revealed that 40% of the attendees were visitors from outside of the Capital Region.
  • Canada Day 2011 related spending generated a total of $222 million of economic activity in Ontario and Quebec - $93 million within Canada’s Capital Region.
  • Every year, close to 425 artists from across Canada are invited to perform in the Capital Region on July 1st


  • Size of the stage: 44 m x 15 m (145 ft x 50 ft)
