Jacques-Cartier Park welcomes children to a magical world of games and hands-on workshops. Interactive fun, shows, buskers and face painting are sure to please children of all ages.

Starting and finishing at Jacques-Cartier Park, this non-competitive course will follow a scenic loop through the park and along the Ottawa River.

Chalk Talks

Leave your mark! Write a poem, express your thoughts or a make a drawing — whatever inspires you! Chalk and a section of pavement are available for you to let your imagination run free. (First come, first served.)

This exhibit will highlight how sport and play can be used as a tool for development, and provide information on Right To Play’s leading international role in the growing Sport for Development and Peace movement. Right To Play ambassadors will coordinate games and activities similar to the ones played in their project locations in 23 countries across Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

President’s Choice® Canada Day Fireworks Spectacular

This thunderous pyrotechnics show soars over the Ottawa River, beginning at 10:05 pm. Visitors can expect some special features this year, as we celebrate some of Canada’s important historical milestones.

The best views are from Jacques-Cartier Park, the Canadian Museum of Civilization, Major’s Hill Park, and along the Ottawa River.
