Daycare
In Ontario, child care is regulated by the provincial government under the Day Nurseries Act. The Act regulates and sets minimum standards for details such as staff-to-child ratios, health and safety, outdoor-playground space, indoor space and staff qualifications. Under the Act, anyone providing regular child care for more than five children must be licensed. The Act does not apply to those who provide care for fewer than five children.
