December 6, 2007 to January 6, 2008 Tel: 1-800-465-1867 or (613) 239-5000 Website: http://www.capcan.ca Launched in 1985 by the National Capital Commission (NCC), Christmas Lights Across Canada is one of a host of unique programs which was created to liven up the winter months. Originally only Parliament Hill was illuminated, but the program has grown to include 16 NCC sites and over 51 other sites along Confederation Boulevard. Thanks to the support of its many partners in the Capital Region and in the provincial and territorial capitals, Christmas Lights Across Canada has created a tradition of collaboration and goodwill among all Canadians. Christmas Carollers ByWard Market Throughout December - Weekends Only 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Performing on the corner of ByWard Market and George Street Throughout the ByWard Market area Celebrate the holiday season with some old-fashioned Christmas carolling in the ByWard Market! Free horse-drawn wagon rides will chauffeur you and other carollers through the historic streets of Ottawa's oldest and most vibrant neighbourhood. These short tours are available on both the Saturday and Sunday on the two weekends before Christmas, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. leaving from the Moulin de Provence at 55 ByWard Market Square. Festive red and green capes will keep you warm and song sheets will be provided. |
