The Canadian Red Cross Society is a non-profit, humanitarian
organization, dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the
victims of conflicts, or disasters, throughout the world. As
a member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
*,the Canadian Red Cross helps the most vulnerable through its
International Services. In Canada, the Red Cross provides a
wide range of assistance to millions of people through its national
disaster relief and prevention services. We also tailor programs
to the needs of individual communities. In keeping with the
Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement,
the Canadian Red Cross is committed to social justice and diversity.
We welcome all who want to join us and share our work. We are
determined to ensure that those who need our services are able
to access them. Volunteer members govern the Society at all
levels. The Red Cross has served Canadians since 1896 and is
a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red
Crescent Societies.
