Over a HALF-A-MILLION lights adorn the heritage buildings, trees and fences of Upper Canada Village creating a one-of-a-kind magical backdrop for its annual Alight at Night Festival…a true winter wonderland!

NEW THIS YEAR! See the dramatic new effect of state-of-the-art *Wall Washer lighting, showcasing each of the Village’s buildings in its own “best light”!

Bundle up for an evening stroll through this picture-perfect postcard setting! Come experience the enchantment of horse-drawn wagons and romantic carriage rides for two; and hop on board a life-size Toy Train. Holiday music, festive dining, shopping and other seasonal surprises all add to the ambience of the event. Now in its 11th year, the Alight at Night Festival has become a favourite family tradition, and one of the region's main attractions in a variety of fun-filled Overnight Getaway Packages.

Enjoy Old Fashioned Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides

Departures - Starting at 5:00 p.m. nightly until closing
Give your feet a rest and take in the sights and sounds aboard an old-fashioned horse-drawn wagon ride.  Included with the cost of admission.
 

Reserving Wagons for Groups
Wagons may be reserved ahead for your group.
Maximum capacity is 15 people per wagon.
Flat rate of $222.20 (includes taxes and administration fee) per wagon applies -- includes admission for the group - max. 15.

Take a Trip on the Toy Train

Hop on board the Toy Train, illuminated by a multitude of lights, and take a round trip through Crysler Park.
Rides depart nightly every half hour starting at 5:00 p.m. until closing. Limited seating available. Train ride is included with admission to Alight at Night.

Crysler Hall Sound & Light Spectacular

The star attraction at the festival guaranteed to dazzle the senses is a nightly Sound & Light Spectacular on the exterior of the stately Crysler Hall in the heart of the Village.

3rd Annual Canadian Gingerbread House Championship

Masterpiece gingerbread creations from the Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts in Ottawa will be showcased nightly inside Crysler Hall, alongside prize-winning gingerbread entries from the public.
Grand Prize of $1500 and 2-Night Getaway to be awarded at start of the festival.

Willard's Hotel - Open for Alight at Night!

Historic Willard's Hotel, located in the heart of the Village, will be open from 4:30 to 9:00 p.m during Alight at Night from December 9 to 23 Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. They will also be open nightly from December 26 to January 7. Reservations are not required but recommended. Wine and Beer available.

NEW! Festival Food Court

For some added flavour to your visit, be sure to stop by the all-new, open-air Festival Food Court, located in the heart of the Village along Queen Street.  Warm up to a variety of family-friendly Foods-to-Go, from potato spirals-on-a-stick, grilled burgers and dogs, to steamy hot chili and the Village’s newest specialty item .... warm-from-the-oven Cinnamon Rolls, baked on site in the Bakery!  Lots of other tasty treats, along with hot and cold beverages, means there’s something for everyone to enjoy ... all in a festively lit outdoor setting!

Cook's Tavern

Take a break and warm up inside Cook's Tavern, now licensed to serve beer and wine, along with hot soup, chili and other snacks and hot cocoa. 

The Harvest Barn

Step out of the cold and into the Harvest Barn located along Albert Street in Upper Canada Village, and you will find warm-you-up food and beverages, including a dinner special offered nightly.
The Harvest Barn also welcomes group bookings of 20 or more.

Before or after your visit to Alight at Night, plan to dine in the comfortable surroundings of The 19th Hole Bar & Grill (at the Upper Canada Golf Course), open select nights throughout the festival. Located across the highway from Upper Canada Village.

Fun & Lunch with Santa

One Day Only - Saturday, December 10
Santa is going to be making an extra-special appearance during this year's Alight at Night Festival, when he drops in for an afternoon visit at the Harvest Barn on Saturday December 10. Starting at 1:30 pm., FUN & LUNCH WITH SANTA promises to be fun for the whole family! Tell Santa your special wishes, enjoy a hot sandwich combo, (drink and fries plus hot turkey sandwich for adults/hot dog for children), decorate gingerbread men, and make your own Christmas wrap. Afterwards, kids can shop or spend time in the Movie Room at the Village Store while parents browse and shop at their own leisure.
Enjoy all of the above along with your evening admission to Alight at Night including parking, wagon and train rides, all for one package price (HST extra): Adult/Senior $37.50 / Youth (6-12) $27.50 / Child (5 & under) $7.

Special Needs Nights

Once again, the Village will set aside select evenings prior to opening - where groups of people with physical dissabilities can ride in the comfort of their own vehicle to view the Village adorned in lights. November 30 and December 1.
Only "special needs" vans or parabuses allowed - no coaches or school busses, please. For everyone's safety, we will provide one of our own trained and licensed staff who is familiar with the Village roadways in the dark, to lead these vehicles through the site.
Admission to tour the Village when part of a "Special Needs" group is only $13 per person. Reservations must be made ahead, by calling 1-800-437-2233 or locally 613-543-4328.
