REPORT OF THE 2011 AGM
The 2011 AGM was honoured by the presence of Senator Nancy Greene Raine, a Life Member and active supporter of the Canadian Ski Museum/Canadian Ski Hall of Fame. Nancy played an active part in the meeting, and offered practical advice and strong encouragement for continuing to pursue our mission with determination.
The AGM was also privileged to have the participation of members and friends from outside the National Capital Region.
The AGM passed a special resolution to change our name from the Canadian Ski Museum, to the Canadian Ski Hall of Fame and Museum. This resolution endorsed a similar resolution passed by the Board of Directors at their meeting on March 23.
The next steps are to apply to Industry Canada for approval of the name change, and to obtain confirmation from the Canada Revenue Agency that the name change would not affect our status as a charitable organization with the authority to issue tax receipts for donations.
The AGM also re-elected the slate of directors identified on the last slide of the PowerPoint presentation that you may view by clicking the appropriate item below. The presentation constitutes the report to the AGM, and includes both slides and notes.
Members wishing to obtain a copy of the financial statements of the Museum/Hall of Fame should contact Robin Cushnie, preferably by e-mail.
Chris Edgell, head of the task force on the financial sustainability of the Museum/Hall of Fame, and former Chair, made an extensive and inspiring presentation and reporting on the progress and future directions of the Museum/Hall of Fame.
