Summer Solstice Aboriginal Arts Festival provides families a unique opportunity to experience and celebrate the diverse Aboriginal cultures of the National Capital Region for National Aboriginal Day. The 2nd Annual International Competition Pow Wow attracts hundreds of singers and dancers from across North America for a vibrant & lively display of our living culture. Interactive & FREE family programming will keep all ages entertained throughout the weekend including stilt-walkers, Big Sky Animal Ranch Display and Pony rides & new “Elephant Thoughts” interactive “edutainment” with human hamster balls, body zorbs, 14 foot tall glow in the dark planetarium & more! New 1812 programming features historical living displays, Metis Voyageur games & free historical photobooth. Aboriginal artisan village featuring interactive arts workshops, exhibits, demonstrations and vendors and our popular Main Stage (June 21-24) with cultural showcases, Aboriginal Canada We’ve Got Talent! & family friendly concert series featuring Amanda Rheaume, Donny Parenteau, Leanne Goose, Indian City and Crystal Shawanda.
