Are there shops (like bakery, butcher, cafes, gift shops) around there, within walking distance of the residential streets?

How close is it from downtown? Is it within walking distance?

There is some helpful information here...

It is very close to downtown (you could walk easily)... many shops ... there is a loeb grocery store... it is close to Rockcliffe which is a a ritzy area ... it is a very nice area along the Rideau River... are you looking at moving there?

Yes, I am thinking about moving there. I am definitely moving to Ottawa from England in June and have a few areas narrowed down. I saw a really nice flat in that area, but didn't know anything about it.

It is a cute little community...like the other guy mentioned, it has a loebs grocery store, lots of cute shops, and a few bars/pubs with patios. 15 minute walk downtown. It's right at the end of the Vanier Parkway, and buses are awesome. Has some charm to it's brick buildings and narrow roads.
