Getting Your Dora Party Started!

A colouring table is always a great way to keep children entertained while you are waiting for the other party guests to arrive. Make sure that your markers and crayons are washable and save yourself a whole lot a hassle on cleanup! Dora colouring pages and activity sheets can be downloaded and printed in advance and set out for the children to use. Add a mexican flare to the activity by printing out Dora flashcards and pick up a few new spanish words to add to your Dora vocabulary!

Animal Rescue Adventure

Help Dora and Diego rescue all of the animals that are in danger. A big storm hit the rainforest last night and many of the animals are lost in the jungle! Dora and Diego need your help to find them and bring them home to safety.

Choose an assortment of stuffed animals from your child's collection and snap a digital photograph of each of them seperately. You can either print these out or use the cameras display to show the children later. If you are really feeling creative and want to or explore your inner artist, draw the animal on a piece of construction paper. Prior to the party, hide the animals around the yard. Send in the rescue team to bring the animals back home to their families. As each animal is found, place it next to the picture (that way, no one gets left behind!). The game continues until all animals are safely home. You may want to take this opportunity to snap some pictures of your guests with the animals to include with your thank-you notes or for birthday scrapbooking pages.

Obstacle Course

Everyone knows that Dora loves a good adventure! Send your party guests through your very own Dora obstacle course. Use everyday household items such as buckets, balls, blankets, tunnels and anything else that you can come up with to create an obstacle adventure in your own backyard. May sure that you name each portion appropriately. For example the ishy squisky swamp and the rolly polly tunnel are all names that the kids will love!


Party Food Ideas

Create a snack table filled with Mexican themed munchies for your party guests to nibble on! Chips & salsa, quesadillas, veggies and chopped fruit will help fill the bellies of all your little adventurers. Mix up a batch of margaritas for the gang in the blender using fruit punch & fresh strawberries.

Chicken and Cheese Quesadillas

Kids of all ages will love this Mexican treat. Serve topped with sour cream, guacamole and fresh tomato salsa.

Ingredients:

1 chicken breast pre-cooked and sliced thin
8 flour tortillas
2 cups grated cheese (Cheddar or Monterey Jack)

Directions:

• Arrange 4 tortillas on work surface
• Sprinkle each one with 1/2 cup cheese and some sliced chicken.
• Top with remaining tortillas. Press together lightly.
• Melt 1 tablespoon butter in heavy large skillet over medium heat or spray with non-stick spray.
• Place 1 quesadilla in skillet. Cook until brown, about 3 minutes per side.
• Repeat cooking process with remaining butter and quesadillas.
• Cut into small wedges

Can be served warm or prepared ahead.

Fiesta Trio Mexican Maracas

Make and decorate your very own maracas using empty toilet paper or paper towels rolls. Fill the cylinders with dried beans, noodles or rice. Use elastic bands and pieces of wax paper to close off the ends. Next wrap the tubes in colourful tissue paper and tie the ends with curling ribbon. Have the children decorate their maracas with stickers and markers. When everyone is finished, play some lively Spanish music and get ready to shake it up and make some noise just like the Fiesta Trio!
