Most Delicious Fundraiser Ever!
Only a Fool would think you could make money by giving things away -- so that's what we are doing!
Irving Greenberg Theatre Centre (GCTC)
$20 per person suggested donation
; $15 per person for families of 3+
A Company of Fools hosts this celebration of all things frosty and sweet to raise money to build a new set for the award winning play A Midwinter's Dream Tale playing this December as a part of the GCTC's 2011/2012 Season! The Fools hope to raise $1000 with this event and hope to see many smiling faces fighting off brain freeze on Sunday September 25th! For a suggested donation of $20 per bowl, or $15 for families of 3+, patrons will be able to gorge themselves on ice cream and cover it with a variety of different toppings.
"Ice Cream is a big feature of A MidWinter's Dream," says director AL Connors, "so when we were looking for an event that would raise some awareness about the show this December as well as raise a bit of money, the idea of ice cream hit us... like an ice cream headache?"
Scott Florence, artistic director (more commonly referred to as 'the big fool') has a different take: "I'm pretty sure AL just wanted an excuse to spend company money on as much ice cream as he could eat."
A MidWinter's Dream Tale was originally presented at the Gladstone Theatre in 2009, where it earned designer Ivo Valentik the outstanding design award from both the Capital Critics Circle and the Rideau Awards. Unfortunately the set was unable to be stored for the past two years, and so Ivo and the Fools need to recreate the magic, which means recreating some of the budget dollars!
