KIWANIS IDOL 2012 RED CARPET CONCERT SUNDAY JUNE 30TH AT SCOTIABANK PLACE
Nine finalists in the 2011 edition of Kiwanis Idol, including winner Jordan McIntosh of Carleton Place, will visit Scotiabank Place for the Kiwanis Idol 2012 Red Carpet Concert on Saturday June 30th.
McIntosh will be joined by Lindsay White and Michelle Treacy of Orleans, Jamie Anne Bentz of Armprior, Alexandra Maheral of Munster Hamlet, Laura D’Amico of Greely, and Noah Pellman, Jenna Taggart and Emma Nicholson, all of Ottawa.
The Idols will walk the red carpet at 6:30 p.m outside Scotiabank Place, then take the stage with Kiwanis Idols band at 7:30 p.m. in support of Do it for Daron (D.I.F.D). Join nine of the best young singers in Canada as they help inspire conversation to raise awareness and funds for youth mental health research at The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre.
About Kiwanis Idol
Kiwanis Idol was founded in 2003 to provide a stage for local singers from 13 to 21 to have their voices heard. Idol contestants are given the opportunity to perform publicly in front of their peers and the Ottawa Community. Each year, the winner of Kiwanis Idol takes home free recording sessions at Pebble Studios. This will be the fifth Red carpet concert with our 2011 finalist.
D.I.F.D. is a youth-driven program focused on raising awareness and inspiring conversations about youth mental health. Created by friends and family of Daron Richardson, who lost her life to suicide at the young age of 14, D.I.F.D. is inspired by hope for a future where young people will reach out for help without fear or shame D.I.F.D. supports programs and initiative amied at transforming youth mental health.
