(the City's electricity distributor), the Ottawa Campsite Authority, and the Mississippi-Rideau Source Protection Committee.

Clive Doucet considers himself a lifelong Ottawa resident. He spent his childhood alternately in Ottawa and on the East coast. In his teenage years he attended Fisher Park and Nepean high schools in the west end.
He received his first degree from the University of Toronto graduating with a Bachelor of Arts with honours in Urban Anthropology. He then pursued graduate work receiving a Masters degree (MSc) from the Universite de Montreal.

Diane Deans was first elected to Ottawa City Council in November 1994. In November 2006, Deans was re-elected to her fifth consecutive term. She proudly represents the nearly 40,000 south-end residents who live in Gloucester-Southgate Ward at Ottawa City Council.

She attended McGill University where she obtained a degree in Physical Education, a subject she later taught at both McGill University and the University of Toronto. Diane has done community volunteer work in both Halifax, Nova Scotia and Ottawa. She is the past President of the Centretown Citizens Community Association and Heritage Ottawa.

Glenn Brooks, born and raised in the rural community, has served his community in a number of capacities over an extended period of time. He entered local politics in 1977 when he was first elected to the Township of Rideau Council. Since then he served as its Mayor for three terms (9 years) and, most recently, as the Corporation's Chief Executive Officer. He was also Rideau's representative on the Council of the former Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton. After 22 years of public service to the Township, Glenn was elected to the Council of the new City of Ottawa in 2000.

Born in Montreal in 1946 and raised as part of a military family subject to frequent moves, Gord Hunter moved to Nepean in 1968 when he started his teaching career at Confederation High School. Gord has lived in the area (Manordale then Tanglewood) ever since.

Steve and his family are residents of the ward and their young son was born at the Queensway-Carleton hospital. Steve has also spent several years working in South Nepean. Fully bilingual, Steve is a graduate of the University of Ottawa and holds a Masters degree in Public Administration from Carleton University. For more than a decade, Steve has worked for several departments in the federal government and most recently in supporting Canada's hard-hit beef sector. He also managed a program designed to support small-and-medium sized enterprise.
